Better In than out!

Im currently sitting hear contemplating my navel as they say... The UK sun has come up trumps yet again and I'm obviously digressing from the work I'm trying to do... In fact its so frigging hot in this sun room I'm currently sweating my unmentionables off and comforting myself by taking a nostalgic trip for one, creating my own little utopia of what may soon be with us..

So back to that same old design question - how do you create unique identity without compromise of authenticity?

For me its understanding, association and honesty..
What I want to create is something bespoke, with opulence but with a shuttering of originality... This is where my mind is at currently.

One step further

We'll here we go, step by step as they say! Call me obsessive, but I think i'v just about found every pintrest and web reference available to man kind... From cool to rustic- airstream interiors rock .... the ideas are endless - the one thing for me is authenticity - not necessarily a bolt for bolt remake but understanding the original spirit of the beast and at a guess our tin can, although borne 54 was conceived in the 20's...

Caution to the wind

Being a keen amateur philosopher and psychologist, you know- aka pompous, opinionated and pigheaded of course I know I can do this... So where to start - well its the latter part of 2013 and there is only one true way to start - GOOGLE!!

Im not entirely sure how many hours I'v dedicates to scouring the web for information on all things shiny.. Some strange sites out there, but don't be scared if you want to partake in a similar journey its positively enlightening... So laptop almost permanently embedded into my irises the idd is beginning to take over, devil on the shoulder just saying "reach out" and it will happen...

So with a plate full of trepidation and a side of abandonment I peel through cupolas horror storeys and tales of woe that would give most old sea chanties a run for their bucks. How the hell do you find a suitable vendor?? Its not like checking out the local sheepskin clad wiseboy down the road - its more akin to adorning my Tom Sellick tash and jumping the Ferrari, only woefully minus the Ferrari...

My way forward was to discount the blaggers, wise boys and companies/people with dodgy reviews - Its more about a connection, a commonality, a truth and ultimately a trust... (I'll let you know how that works out for us)!

We eventually found Ellie and Philip of www.http://eurostreamcaravans.com... They seem the mutts nuts...

So many conversations later and many £ sent overseas we have the pics of our keenly awaited Clipper..

Our Tin Can!

Living in a tin can.....

So......... Here we go, take the plunge and set along a whimsical dream !!!!!!

Importing a tin can!

This Blog is dedicated to the import and restoration of a vintage american trailer a Silver Streak 1954 Clipper to be precise we are told that it is a 22 but the images I have seen suggests its a 25... (sorry airstreamers the blog title could have been a little misleading but UNLUCKY).

Who we are..... Basically raving mad, some would say mindless people jumping into the void, we probably have neither the skills or the money to even attempt a project such as this but as they say hey ho.

I am a designer, a clothing designer with hopefully an eye for creativity and critical thinking that will bring us through what I'm imagining will be an epic undertaking.
